On a run
voice answer
01On a run

History audiobook, 6 minutes per kilometer.

Wisot catches the key idea and pauses: "What did the author call the main reason?" Answer by voice — keep running.

Driving
'repeat' · 'skip'
02Driving

Product analytics podcast, hands in the dough.

Wisot asks a question — you answer out loud. By the time dinner's ready, you didn't just listen — it stuck.

Founder note

"I built Wisot for myself. I learn a lot, and the best lectures land while I'm running or driving. I used to listen and forget. Not anymore."

06 · Science3 effectsof active recall

Active recall is the most effective learning strategy.

The pause-and-engage method rests on decades of cognitive psychology research. Every product decision is grounded in an established scientific principle.

Testing effect
80%
Students who quizzed themselves remembered 80% of material a week later — vs 36% for those who re-read.

Active retrieval strengthens memory more than passive re-reading.

Comparable to a tutor
d = 0.76
Intelligent tutoring systems (d = 0.76) nearly match one-on-one human tutoring (d = 0.79).

Significantly outperforms regular group instruction.

Best of ten techniques

Wisot doesn't replace ChatGPT or compete with Snipd. It closes the gap none of these tools cover:

08 · PrivacyYes · and nono legal fog

What we do — and don't do — with your sound

Whisper model runs locally, no internet.

Ask permission before each session

Mic stays silent until you tap 'start'.

Save only what you confirmed

The note goes to the cloud with one tap — yours.

What we don't
We don't store raw audio

The audio stream exists only during processing.

We don't show ads

No trackers, no partner SDKs.

We don't train models on your data

Your sessions are yours. Period.

For everyone who learns. No age restrictions.
